A study by Bio-Techne aimed to determine the optimal concentrations of IL-7 and IL-15 for T cell expansion. With the use of CD4+ and CD8+ cells from healthy donors, the results suggested that T cell cultures should be expanded with IL-7 at 5 ng/mL or above, alongside IL-15 at 2.5-10 ng/mL. This would produce the desired phenotype while requiring less protein. The study recommends cell therapy manufacturers to collaborate with process optimization experts to determine the best conditions for their individual processes.
