Glucan Detection

Most fungi contain significant levels of (1-3)-ß-D-glucan in their cell walls. (1-3)-ß-D-glucan is a known pro-inflammatory material with documented clinical impact. This glucan is shed into the environment where fungi grow and may remain as an undesirable contaminant in air, water, and processed materials such as pharmaceuticals.

Cellulose-based materials may also leach (1-3)-ß-D-glucan which might contaminate pharmaceuticals in down-stream processing.

ACC's Glucatell Kit is a (1-3)-ß-D-glucan specific chromogenic assay which is designed for the quatitation of glucans using the familiar 96-well microplate format. The Glucatell kit is offered in both kinetic and end-point assay formats.
