Lightools Research introduces the Cool-Tool Cam, a cooled CCD camera designed for the demanding low light chemiluminescent and fluorescent applications, as well as traditional gel documentation. The Cool-Tool Cam camera utilizes Peltier cooling to dramatically decrease dark current noise that accumulates during long integration times, reducing to 1/8 the noise of an uncooled camera. This results in a camera with very low noise, wide dynamic range and excellent low light imaging capabilities; all functions essential for difficult bio-imaging applications. By upgrading a camera model currently used by Lightools Research and other manufactures of gel documentation systems, the cost is kept down and plug and play compatibility is maintained.
