Total organic carbon (TOC) content provides a measure of the cleanliness of single-use materials and components considered for use in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. In this technical bulletin, the results of a rinse up study to measure the TOC from four different tubing types is presented. The silicone tubing were each rinsed with deionized (DI) water, which was then sampled and analyzed off-line to determine the TOC content from each.
Meissner will deliver a hands-on demonstration of their CryoVault™ Platform for bulk drug substance at BioProduction Congress. The event, which is now part of CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt, Germany will take place at Messe Frankfurt on 5-7 November 2019.
Tubing is arguably one of the earliest components in pharma to be associated with single-use technology. This paper espouses active risk mitigation and cleaner materials in single-use tubing applications.
