Scalable, Continuous, And High-Capacity Production Of hMSC-Derived Extracellular Vesicles
By Effie Huang, Stephen Lenzini, Elie Zakhem
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are involved in cell-to-cell communication and play a role in homeostasis, affecting the normal physiological function, and the emergence of some pathologies. Despite the existence of various technology platforms for adherent-cell EV production, drawbacks and limitations still exist for manufacturing EVs while meeting all three of the following criteria: scalable production, ability to perform in continuous mode and to reach high capacities. The need for technology innovation to meet these industry needs with a single platform, is driving the creation structured fixed-bed bioreactor platforms.
Univercells Technologies’ scale-X™ structured fixed-bed bioreactors in particular are part of a scalable range that caters to both small-scale requirements in proof-of-concept studies and mid-scale clinical studies, as well as to large-scale biomanufacturing needs. Explore the scale-X™ platform, along with it's specifications and use in hMSC and EV processes
