05.30.26 -- Insufficient Vendor Data Is Hamstringing Single-Use Technology Adoption

LACKLUSTER DATA PACKAGES SHIFT THE VALIDATION BURDEN TO END USERS

I never thought I’d develop strong feelings about plastic bags and tubing, but here we are. Recently, during our April Live event on closing the adoption gap for advanced single-use technologies (SUT), I had the chance to discuss the factors underlying this steep adoption curve with experts Katrina Cordovado, Joshua Nelson, Ph.D., and Paul Priebe.

What I took away from this event is that the single-use adoption gap is due in large part to the insufficiency and limited usability of vendor data packages, which inadvertently passes the validation burden to end users.

But what exactly is the extent of this validation burden? While we didn’t have enough time to cover this in depth during the hour, I was lucky enough to have all three panelists join me on the “Better Biopharma” podcast after the event to discuss the validation challenges facing single-use adopters. They also answered some audience questions we didn’t get to live.

I’d recommend watching the event recording first to establish some context before listening to the companion podcast, but don’t let me tell you what to do!
