Innovative Chemically Defined Medium Supports Intensified AAV And LV Production In HEK293 Cells

Scaling viral vector manufacturing is constrained by low cell density transfection in batch processes. This poster presents data on a chemically defined medium formulated for suspension HEK293 cells in perfusion systems. Using steady-state and dynamic perfusion in benchtop bioreactors, the medium sustained viabilities above 90% at densities up to 1.18 × 10⁸ cells/mL with a cell-specific perfusion rate as low as 25 pL/cell/day.
High cell density transfection and stable producer cell induction were validated across N-1 perfusion and batch formats for AAV2, AAV5, AAV8, and lentiviral vectors. Access the poster below to learn more.
