The human small intestine plays a vital role in human health and gastrointestinal disease. Due to the complex cell-cell interactions and dynamic conditions governing its function in the duodenum, the small intestine is challenging to study. Often, in vitro experimental models of the small intestine exclude its intricate microanatomy, heterogeneous cell populations, and intestinal wall contractions, despite their significance in intestinal biology and pathology.

The Emulate Duodenum Intestine-Chip offers a solution to these challenges. It is the only model that replicates in vivo human physiology by incorporating pre-qualified, biopsy-derived primary human organoids and duodenal endothelial cells within a dynamic, tissue-specific microenvironment. This model enables researchers to study toxicity, better understand disease mechanisms, and accurately assess drug efficacy.
