The Functional Genomics Conference focuses on understanding the specific cellular events that occur on every level of transcription, translation, and protein-protein interactions. Mutations that are controlled at the level of DNA are predictors for the change in function and structure in downstream products. Developments in gene targeting technology provides crucial information in target validation for therapeutics and application in the areas of inflammation, oncology, immunology, and infectious diseases. Also, we will take a closer look at genomic variation in relation to predicting a patient's response to drugs. Topics to be discussed: I. Genomic Variation as a Predictor of Protein-protein and Protein Drug Interactions II. Molecular Diagnostics and Therapeutic Application for Complex Diseases III.Transcriptome Profiling and Genome Regulation by mRNAs, microRNAs, and long noncoding RNAs IV. Approaches for Analysis and Intergration of Complex Data V. Genome Wide Mutagenesis and Phenotypic Analysis VI. Developments and Challenges in Target Validation VII. Prospects for Epigenomic-based Drug Discovery
