Z-Gel Precast Mini-Gels
Z-Gels unique sieving matrix has been used to resolve a wide range of macromolecules found in nature. Proteins and nucleic acids are more easily and conveniently resolved in comparison to conventional acrylamide/bis-acrylamide mixtures. This enhanced resolving power can separate up to 100 macromolecules from complex biological solutions and provide more data in terms of darker staining, crisper blots and purer starting material for PCR amplifications and cloning.
All Z-Gels, native and denaturing, contain a 4% stacking layer for producing sharper, crisper bands over a larger portion of the gel in comparison to gels not having a "stack". Each gel bears a poured in comb with 12 lanes and provides sample loading volumes of up to 30ml with less of the "smiling" and "frowning" associated with many comb types. Several new straight percentage and gradient concentrations have been added to meet the more specific needs. Z-Gels will now come in a complete range of straight percents ranging from 4% to 18%, as well as gradients such as 4% to 12% and the hard to find 17% to 27%.
Native borate (TBE) and Tris-Glycine SDS (TGS) Z-Gels are available in both straight percentage and gradient formats. Gels are cast between two plates of glass to ensure even banding and heat dissipation. The gel cassettes are 10 cm wide by 8 or 10 cm tall, fit most major supplier electrophoresis devices and come in 5 and 10 packs of individually-wrapped cassettes. Rigorous quality control and use of high purity chemicals ensure the highest quality gels.
