A high performance multi-wavelength digital imaging system, the 1442 ARTHUR has been developed to scan and analyze a wide range of electrophoresis and non-electrophoresis samples. This multi-wavelength fluoroimager supports single or multiple fluorescent labeling and is suitable for DNA, protein and carbohydrate imaging applications. Accommodating samples up to 230 x 280 mm, this system can excite across the whole visible spectrum in epi-illumination, reflection, and edge illumination.
This fluoroimager uses a cooled CCD array as the primary detector, and provides high sensitivity, high speed and linearity. The full image is produced by an array of smaller sub-images acquired by the moving detector, providing spatial resolution of up to 50 microns in both directions. Suitable media for this system include polyacrylamide gels, membranes, exposed film and paper. Not restricted to electrophoresis, this system can image any sample up to several millimeters thick at any wavelength and under several different conditions.
