Waters Corporation Chosen By Thar Instruments As Exclusive Single Quad Mass Spec Supplier

Waters Corporation today announced that Thar Instruments, a leader in supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), has selected Waters as its exclusive supplier of single quad mass spectrometers. Thar has agreed to sell and/or recommend Waters® Micromass® ZQ™ Mass Spectrometer in combination with its own proprietary line of SuperDiscovery SFC systems into the pharmaceutical and industrial markets. Today's agreement leverages the analytical instrument expertise of Waters with Thar's strong market presence and unique understanding of CO2-based instrumentation for SFC.

The agreement calls for the two companies to jointly develop software creating a highly integrated SFC-MS instrument. This instrument will have Thar's SuperDiscovery system control capabilities embedded into Waters MassLynx™ mass spectrometry data software. Thar can now offer a broader and more specialized chromatography product line to its current pharmaceutical and nutraceutical customers.
