The compact and portable Thermo-Sealer has been developed by ABgene® with both convenience and safety in mind. Heat sealing is a simple, practical and cost effective method for sealing samples in either polypropylene, polystyrene or polyethylene tubes and plates for subsequent storage and transport. It also provides an ideal solution for sealing samples in plates for thermal cycling procedures.

Once samples have been processed in heat-sealed plates, they can be recovered by either piercing through the seal, thus avoiding the hazards of cross-contamination, or by complete removal of the seal by hand or with the aid of the ABgene® Foil Stripper (AB-0592). Piercing can be achieved using individual pipette tips or by using the Pierce Plate (AB-0579). Heat sealing produces 100% hermetic seals so problems associated with evaporative loss are eliminated.

Available for either 240V or 110V, the Thermo-Sealer is C.E. marked and complies with the guidelines for laboratory safety. The heating element of the sealer is pre-set for optimal heat-sealing conditions to produce permanent or peelable seals when used in conjunction with ABgene®'s sealing foils or films.

The Teflon® coated heating plate of the sealer faces downwards, thus reducing the risk of accidents. For additional security, the built-in safety control of the thermostat ensures the sealer will not overheat.

When used with an appropriate plate carrier, the versatile Thermo-Sealer is able to seal plates of different heights including those plates with a raised outer rim.

Please note that customers should specify which plate carrier they require at the time of ordering.
