The successful transfer of validated assays is a critical concern for laboratories adopting new, advanced platforms. In drug development, many flow cytometry assays are initially created at one location but must be shared across multiple functional teams. Standardizing assays on several instruments can be particularly challenging with legacy cytometers, even ones within the same laboratory. However, modern technologies, such as the BD FACSLyric™ Flow Cytometer, enable seamless cross-instrument assay transfer and global standardization.

Gain insight into how BD’s Applications Scientists aided a global pharmaceutical company in transferring their cell therapy assays across international locations. At the company's product development site in the United States, Brandy Bergher facilitated the transfer of assays developed on the BD FACSCanto™ II platform to the BD FACSLyric™ Flow Cytometer, allowing for further transfer to a European site with the support of Dennis Tielemans. Drawing from this experience, BD created a step-by-step guide to transferring target values specific to particular applications from the BD FACSCanto™ II to the BD FACSLyric™ flow cytometer.
