Scale-Up In Single-Use Bioprocessing Under The Spotlight In New Webinar

David Heaney2

Guidance on speeding up the commercialization of biopharmaceuticals will be available to manufacturers next month, through a webinar delivered by Parker Bioscience Filtration.

Taking place on November 12, the webinar, entitled Ensuring Successful Scale-Up in Single-Use Bioprocessing, will be presented by David Heaney, market development manager at Parker Bioscience Filtration, UK

The webinar will help biopharmaceutical manufacturers build a strategy for effective scale-up of filtration and single-use processes that will facilitate technology transfer, in order to avoid delays in commercialization caused by inconsistent scale-up of a single-use process between R&D and manufacturing.

It will explain how to conduct a small-scale filtration trial using an automated single-use system at laboratory scale – and examine the advantages this provides.

The webinar will also explore the benefits of single-use technology in both R&D and manufacturing, and consider how to ensure successful implementation of single-use automation from laboratory scale through to large-scale production.

Registration for the webinar is free.

Presenter, David Heaney said: “Once a target molecule is identified, speed to market is crucial and effective scale-up of filtration and single-use processes plays a critical part in delivering this.

“With greater volumes of high value product being clarified and sterilized through filtration, it is key that processes are scaled-up based on empirical data generated in laboratory studies to avoid premature filter fouling and loss of valuable product.

“This webinar will provide valuable insight and advice to scientists, engineers and managers across the biopharmaceutical manufacturing landscape on planning and implementing scale-up.”
