BIOMOL offers three complete drug discovery kits for assaying the activity of Caspase-1, 3 and 8.
BIOMOL offers three complete drug discovery kits for assaying the activity of Caspase-1, 3 and 8. These three QuantiZyme™ Assay Kits for Drug Discovery are useful in screening for inhibitors of Caspase-1, 3 or 8, important therapeutic targets involved in apoptotic pathways.
Caspase-1 (Interleukin-1Beta converting enzyme; ICE), the prototypical member of the ICE family of cysteine proteases, is the novel protease cleaves pro-interleukin-1Beta after Asp-116.
Caspase-3 (CPP32/Yama/Apopain) is one of the principal caspase activities found in apoptic cells and cleaves targets such as poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and nuclear lamins.
Caspase-8 (FLICE/MACH/Mch5) is implicated as the apical signaling protease in Fas- and TNF-receptor mediated apoptis and may activate downstream caspase zymogens such as procapase-3.
Kits include the following components:
- purified caspase-3 or -8 enzyme (human, recombinant)
- colormetric substrate (Ac DEVD-pNA, Ac-IETD-pNA, or Ac-YVAD-pNA)
- calibration standard (p-nitroaniline)
- inhibitor (aldehyde)
- assay buffer
- 1/2 volume 96-well microtiter plate
- instruction booklet
