Success Through Experience
The art of creating useful antibodies requires years of experience to be perfected. QED Bioscience has been creating antibodies for diagnostic immunoassays for nearly 20 years. We are proud to know that our antibodies are vital components in many diagnostic products on the market today. QED antibodies to therapeutic drugs and infectious disease pathogens have been used by leading manufacturers in a variety of immunoassay formats - with no interruption of supply at any time. In recent years, we extended our market presence into the areas of cancer research, growth factors, hormones and coagulation factors, and apoptosis.

Our History
Before becoming an independent corporation in 1995, the staff of QED comprised the Cell Biology department of Synbiotics Corporation, where monoclonal antibodies for numerous human and veterinary diagnostic products were developed. Later, we moved to ImmunoPharmaceutics, Inc., a former subsidiary of Synbiotics, and our focus shifted to monoclonal antibodies with pharmacological activity, such as enzyme neutralization and inhibition of receptor-ligand interactions. QED scientists, in collaboration with academic and commercial associates, published the first complete X-ray crystal structure of a monoclonal antibody (Nature 360: 369, 1992), the X-ray structure of an idiotype/anti-idiotype antibody complex (PNAS 91: 1604, 1994), and the computationally-derived structure of an anti-enzyme antibody (Amer Biotech Lab, August 1995, p. 26). QED scientists also designed a patented method for creating bifunctional monoclonal antibodies.

Experience Our Experience
As a result, we have learned many tricks for producing antibodies of a desired affinity and specificity. We have also become experts at antibody analysis, so when our antibodies move into product development, there are no surprises. Through our catalog, we offer over 400 monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for industrial and research applications and the broadest array of custom antibody services in the industry, including monoclonal and polyclonal antibody development and manufacturing programs. When you need a company that understands antibodies, QED is the one to choose.
