Located in Belgium, Puurs is Pfizer’s largest manufacturing facility in Europe and one of the company’s most strategically important global production hubs. Established in 1962, the site has built more than six decades of deep expertise in sterile injectable manufacturing, making it a cornerstone of Pfizer’s worldwide supply network.

Today, Puurs is home to more than 4,000 highly skilled colleagues and produces over 400 million doses of medicines and vaccines annually, supplying healthcare systems in more than 170 countries. The site’s advanced capabilities span the full spectrum of sterile manufacturing — from aseptic fill-finish operations and complex biologics processing to the safe handling of highly potent drug products — ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability. The facility gained global recognition during the COVID-19 pandemic, when it played a critical role in the rapid, large-scale production and distribution of the Pfizer‑BioNTech COVID‑19 Vaccine.
