Application Note

Perfusion Cultivations With ExpiCHO-S Cells Using The Minifors 2 Bioreactor

Source: INFORS HT
Solutions - Minifors

Ultra-high cell density perfusion offers a path to more productive, space-efficient biomanufacturing, but it also places greater demands on process control, cell retention, and system integration. In this work, IgG-producing ExpiCHO-S cells were cultivated in a compact benchtop setup using the Minifors 2 bioreactor paired with a tangential flow filtration loop and managed through the eve® process control platform via OPC UA. The process reached viable cell densities above 100 × 10⁶ cells/mL within eight days and achieved IgG titres up to 901 mg/L. These results show how a small-footprint bioreactor platform can support intensified and continuous process development without requiring large-scale infrastructure. Read the full application note to see how the integrated setup performed and what it could mean for upstream bioprocess development.
