Outsourced Manufacturing: Large vs Small Molecule

In Q42017, ISR surveyed 177 biopharmaceutical sponsors and asked how the proportion of outsourced manufacturing for large molecule products compare to that of small molecule products. The majority of respondents stated large molecule and small molecule product manufacturing is outsourced at the same rate at their company; however, for one-quarter of respondents a greater proportion of large molecule manufacturing activities are outsourced and for 22% of respondents, a greater portion of small molecule manufacturing is outsourced.
