3M Purification Inc. Introduces New Zeta Plus Encapsulated, Single-Use Depth Filtration Products
New Zeta Plus Scale-up Capsule Filters and new single-layer media grades for Zeta Plus Encapsulated capsules complement product portfolio
3M Purification Inc. has expanded its portfolio of Encapsulated Zeta Plus single-use depth filtration capsules. The two new product lines – Zeta Plus Scale-up Capsule Filters and new single-layer media grades for Zeta Plus Encapsulated capsules – are designed with our industry leading Zeta Plus depth filter media, designed for applications in the bio-pharmaceutical industry including cell culture clarification, downstream process protection, virus, DNA and lipid reduction, and host cell protein (HCP), protein aggregate, endotoxin and anti-foaming agent removal.
The new Zeta Plus scale-up capsules are suitable for intermediate scale-up studies and lab-scale protein production. The scale-up capsule filters are available with 170 cm², 340 cm² and 1020 cm² of filter media. The scale-up capsule filters feature ½” sanitary style connectors, polysulfone, polypropylene and thermoplastic elastomer materials of construction, fluorocarbon o-rings and < 40 mL post blow-down hold up volume.
The innovative line of Zeta Plus Encapsulated single-use depth filter capsules has been extended to include our SP, LA, LP, ZA and DELI media grades. This line extension allows for the use of the Zeta Plus Encapsulated System in a wider variety of applications in bio-pharmaceuticals. Single-layer Zeta Plus Encapsulated filter capsules are available in a small, single-cell (0.23 m² filter area) capsule configuration and a large, multi-cell (2.5 m² filter area) capsule configuration.
The Zeta Plus Encapsulated System is a single-use depth filtration system designed for the bioprocessing industry where upstream cell clarification or downstream impurity removal is required. The Zeta Plus Encapsulated System for production scale biomanufacturing features ergonomically designed capsule holders that can be pivoted between the horizontal and vertical positions, allowing for convenient loading and unloading, minimal fluid spills during unloading and full utilization of the filter media.
