New uniform silica microsphere production facility — larger lot sizes available

Source: Bangs Laboratories Inc.
<%=company1%> (Fishers, IN) announces a new in-house silica microsphere laboratory in their Fishers, Indiana, USA headquarters, including all new equipment to accommodate an increased scale of operations. Lot sizes can now be ordered from grams to kilograms dry weight for 0.2 µm to 5 µm size beads.

Bangs' uniform, non-porous, silica beads are made by a new proprietary process developed in 1999 and are useful in liquid chromatography, clinical immunoassays, and nucleic acid applications. Plain (hydrophilic) silica microspheres with natural hydroxyl or silanol surface groups are used for adsorption of nucleotides with low protein binding, and their uniformity facilitates use in column packing for chromatographic applications. The carboxylate-modified silica microspheres have COOH surface groups added by silane coupling agents to permit covalent coupling of ligands that would otherwise not adsorb at all. Other functionalized silica groups are available on request.
