New Generation of Management Takes Over At Bangs Labs

January 2000, Fishers, IN -- Effective January 1st, 2000, Bangs Laboratories announces the promotion of three managers to company officer status. Thomas P. Penno moves from Director of Sales to President and COO; Mary B. Meza from Technical Manager to Vice President ­ Technology; Teresa J. Taylor from Materials Manager to Vice President ­ Administration. In a related move, Teresa I. Dunham has been promoted from Customer Service Representative to Customer Service Manager.

These changes were announced by former President, Dr. Leigh B. Bangs, Chairman of the Board and CEO, and former Vice President, Sonia E. Bangs, Vice-Chairman and CFO.

Tom Penno joined BLI in 1994 as Sales Manager, becoming Director of Sales in 1999. Under his direction, sales have grown 160% in 5 years. Before joining BLI, Tom had sales and marketing experience with other companies in the biotech field, including Amersham, Microgon, and Harlan.

Mary Meza joined BLI's technical service department in 1992 and has served as Technical Service Manager and later Technical Manager. In addition to technical service, Mary is responsible for all aspects of the company¹s new product development including the ProActive protein-activated and silica microspheres. Her previous experience included work at Great Lakes Chemicals and Solvay Enzymes.

Terry Taylor has been in materials management with BLI since 1992. She is now responsible for product flow, quality assurance, finance, and human resources. Her previous experience included an inventory control position with General Motors.

Teresa Dunham has been with BLI in customer service since 1997. Some of her responsibilities include administering all incoming customer correspondence, monitoring the BLI webpage for potential developments, and assuring customer satisfaction. Teresa has had previous experience in Technical Service, for the Patient Care System Division at Boehringer-Mannheim Corporation.
