LI-COR Biosciences Introduces Near-Infrared Small Animal Imager
Lincoln, NE - The new Pearl In Vivo Imaging System for small animal and whole organ imaging offers superior near-infrared (NIR) results in less than 30 seconds. The Pearl Imager is optimized for use with LI-COR IRDye Infrared Dyes, the proven performers for NIR imaging at 700 and 800nm.
"Properly exposed, multi-color images are acquired in 30 seconds," says Jeff Harford, LI-COR product manager. "The Pearl uses laser illumination and dual channel, near-infrared detection for excellent sensitivity combined with the design simplicity of one-button image acquisition."
"Speed and sensitivity are already proven hallmarks of the system," notes Harford. "Beta sites around the world are impressed with the ease of image acquisition especially when compared to other imaging systems." Harford adds that the Pearl Imager provides true NIR imaging using LI-COR's proven dual laser detection technology compared to filtered white light used in competing systems. "For researchers committed to in vivo small animal imaging, near-IR is clearly the best choice."
The Pearl Imager features a compact footprint (16" x 16" x 25") ideal for space-conscious labs and portability. The Pearl Imager joins LI-COR's line up of imaging systems for DNA, small animal, and proteomic research including the Odyssey Imaging System and MousePOD, which also offers researchers a cost-effective approach to in vivo small animal imaging.
