NALGENE Metabolic Cage for Mice -- The First Metabolic Cage designed specifically for a single mouse

ROCHESTER, NY, March 2004 – Collect samples from mice with the new NALGENE Mouse Metabolic Cage (catalog number 650-0315), the first metabolic cage specifically designed to efficiently collect urine and feces from a single mouse. The Metabolic Cage collects 75% more urine than cages currently available on the market, providing useable sample volume from each animal. The cage is similar in design to our NALGENE Rat Metabolic Cage, but is sized specifically for the collection of urine and feces from mice.

Features of the cage include a smaller chamber volume and collection tube design to minimize evaporation. The funnel and cone design with steeper angles separates the urine and feces into separates collection tubes, while the non-wetting funnel and cone material ensure immediate, complete separation of the two samples.

The Mouse Metabolic Cage is self-standing, and does not require a stand. A support plate, available separately, allows the new mouse metabolic cage to fit in current NALGENE Metabolic Cage Racks.
