In traditional capture chromatography, the resin is only utilized up to 60–70% of its capacity to minimize potential product loss. Continuous capture chromatography allows for improved resin capacity, through continuous loading of multiple columns in series, reducing cost of goods. As part of European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program, and in collaboration with Lek, this study evaluates, single-use technologies and advanced analytical tools. One key component of this process is the integration of continuous capture chromatography. Result from the multi-column capture (MCC) system developed and utilized for this project are reported in this application note.
