Modeling And Online Estimation Of kLa And P/V For 250mL And 5L Mammalian Bioreactors
Mike Khor, Abhinav Malhotra, Sam van Herwaarden, Helen Luo, Collin Edington, and Matt Ball

Meet the challenges of measuring both the volumetric mass transfer coefficient of oxygen, kLa, and specific power input (power per volume), P/V, live during experiments. This experiment explores three modeling techniques for kLa and P/V using two datasets from Culture Biosciences’ 250mL and 5L mammalian bioreactors. These kLa and P/V models allow existing clients to gain insight to scale-up related parameters, and assist new clients in transferring their processes onto Culture’s platform. By generating continuous models of kLa and P/V, Culture Biosciences is able to help you scale-up, compare bioreactor performance metrics, and analyze performance on continuous ranges of mixing, air sparging rate and working volume.
