Mallinckrodt Baker Expands Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry Solvents Product Line
Straight Solvents and Pre-blended Formulations Now Available for Consistent, Reproducible Analytical Testing
Phillipsburg, NJ - Mallinckrodt Baker, Inc. today announced an expansion of its Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) product line for analytical testing. The J.T.Baker LC/MS product line of laboratory products now features two new straight solvents and four new solvent blend concentrations for use in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental, as well as the food and beverage markets.
"As LC/MS instrumentation becomes increasingly sensitive, solvent selection has become critically important to our customers," said Pat Riley, global marketing manager – laboratory products. "Mallinckrodt Baker is expanding its LC/MS product line in order to meet the continuously evolving needs of our customers."
The expanded line of J.T.Baker LC/MS solvents and solvent blends are designed to help customers consistently deliver high quality end-products. These new J.T.Baker products were specifically developed to provide the lowest interferences in the industry, and they are manufactured under strict controls to ensure lot-to-lot consistency and to prevent mixed signals during analysis.
Since each solvent and blend also must meet stringent UV specifications, they are function-tested to be utilized for liquid chromatography with UV detection (LC/UV) and LC/MS applications. The solvents also are filtered through a 0.2mm filter to remove particles and reduce contaminants, and they are packaged using advanced technologies to minimize cross-contamination. In addition, the product line is supported through a variety of packaging options in quantities ranging from as small as one liter to mini bulk size to ensure optimal performance.
These two new solvent and four new solvent blend concentrations are a further expansion for this product line. In 2006, the J.T.Baker LC/MS product line was broadened to include solvent blends with either formic acid or trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in water, providing consistent and cost-effective LC/MS blends that yield increased productivity during analytical testing.
