Improved GLP-1 Receptor Agonist Peptide Recovery Using A QuanRecovery™ With MaxPeak™ High Performance Surfaces (HPS) Collection Plate
By Mary Trudeau and Matthew A. Lauber, Waters Corporation

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists are a class of therapeutics widely used in the treatment of metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes and obesity. These peptides, including semaglutide, exenatide, liraglutide, and tirzepatide, have shown significant clinical benefits. However, their analysis using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) presents notable challenges. To address this issue, this application note explores the use of the Waters QuanRecovery plate with MaxPeak High Performance Surfaces (HPS) technology, specifically the 700 µL Collection Plate. The findings demonstrate that this specialized plate significantly reduces non-specific binding, thereby enhancing the recovery of GLP-1 peptides during sample handling.
Learn how this approach not only improves the consistency of analytical results but also boosts the overall sensitivity and reliability of LC-MS assays.
