GLP-1R Cellular Response: Layer By Layer

Lipid droplets did not respond to liraglutide or semaglutide in this cell model, even though published work says they should. That negative result is the starting point of an ASMS talk that moves GLP-1 receptor agonist analysis from the intact molecule to cellular metabolism. Treated and untreated samples were passed among imaging, extracellular flux, and LC-MS groups. Imaging captured lipid staining and cell morphology, flux analysis measured oxygen consumption and acidification, and mass spectrometry profiled metabolites and lipids. Together, they point to a glycolytic shift and signs of energetic stress, and the speaker explains why agreement across platforms carries more weight than any single readout.

Watch to see how the data line up.
