Global Biotechnology Leaders To Provide New Insights On Industry-Changing Issues And Innovations At 2008 BIO International Convention

Washington, DC - The 2008 BIO International Convention will feature leading industry experts and government officials from around the world debating key issues that dramatically influence the biotechnology industry including follow-on biologics/biosimilars, biomarker research, genomics and the ever-changing global biotechnology business landscape. Hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the 2008 BIO International Convention will take place Tuesday, June 17 through Friday, June 20, 2008 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.
The 2008 BIO International Convention program will feature six Super Session panels. Each of these discussion topics were chosen as a result of their significant impact on the future of the industry.
Tuesday, June 17, 2008 - Leading industry and scientific experts to discuss:
- Follow-on Biologics/Biosimilars – Making safe and effective follow-on biologics available globally without jeopardizing innovation. Leaders from biotech companies, including Genzyme Corporation, Genentech, Inc., Novo Nordisk A/S, Sandoz GmbH, Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc., will share their unique perspectives.
- Genomics Drives Innovations in Biotechnology – Cutting-edge genome technologies and their applications to diagnosis and treatment of disease. The presentation will be lead by Dr. Francis S. Collins, Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NIH) and include leaders from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Washington University School of Medicine.
