It significantly increases our geographical coverage and makes our leading contract research platforms available to more researchers worldwide. We are delighted to have been selected by VWR to be one of the first companies to be included in the VWR Bioscience programme'
The alliance offers an excellent balance and fit between Geneservice's established expertise in genomic contract research and VWR's marketing capabilities, global market strength and representation. Geneservice customers will benefit from the proximity with their local VWR specialist service representative, and will have direct access to leading technology and a team of dedicated, highly qualified scientists with extensive project management experience at Geneservice. With over 10 years experience as a national genomics core laboratory and bioinformatics infrastructure, Geneservice has both the capacity and ambition to move beyond the UK market. Working with VWR will substantially increase Geneservice's exposure by promoting its expert contract research program and customer service to academic, clinical, government, biotech and pharma labs world-wide.
Dr. Weaver also highlighted that "Working with VWR in setting up this alliance has been terrific, and it has been more like partnering with another small start-up company instead of what is in reality a very large corporation. This has facilitated our ability to move quickly and effectively, and I believe this says a lot about VWR Biosciences innovative management team. Even though selling services will be a new challenge for VWR reps, so far there has been excellent communication with our scientists and shared vision on how to make this venture a success and swiftly grow the business"
