General Devices Co, Inc. was founded in 1953 by Herbert and Gladys Fall. While serving as a U.S. Naval Officer, Herb Fall recognized the need for easier and less time consuming ways to service the hard mounted electronic equipment. With his mechanical engineering background, Fall developed a new kind of telescoping slide - the original Chassis Trak® slide.

In the years that followed, General Devices has grown to become a diversified manufacturer of finished metal products and sheet metal fabrications. General Devices also supplies the industry's largest selection of solid bearing, ball bearing and heavy-duty bottom mount slides to original equipment manufacturers worldwide. Five modern, vertically integrated manufacturing plants (housing over 180,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space) are located on more than 300 acres and feature a company-owned, public use airport.

Following her husband's death in 1983, Gladys Fall continues to uphold the company's original commitments to produce the highest quality products backed by superior service. Today, as a medium sized, progressive, family owned business, General Devices is unique among specialty metal fabricators and machine shops.
