Gene Therapy Systems, Inc. (GTS) headquartered in San Diego, California, designs, develops and commercializes gene therapy products along with other molecular biological reagents for scientists specializing in gene therapy research. GTS is the only company in the biotechnology reagent business that primarily focuses on gene therapy related products. A comprehensive line of specialty products for the gene therapy sector offered by GTS will include transfection products for gene delivery and plasmid DNAs. In addition to conventional lipoplex-based transfection reagent products, GTS will also offer products in the polyplex or lipopolyplex categories, which are not currently available from other transfection reagent vendors. A series of high expressing plasmids will be offered which can be used to transfect cells in vitro and in vivo. These will include our proprietary fluorescently labeled plasmid vectors expressing various reporter gene products, which, for the first time, will allow customers to follow simultaneously the delivery of plasmid and the expression of encoded protein in cultured cells and in vivo. There are currently no products of this kind available on the market. Our long-term goal is to become the leader in the development and commercialization of technologies that will accelerate and enhance new discoveries in gene delivery systems for gene therapy research and applications.
