Gene Link, founded in 1993, is a small privately held biotechnology company located in Hawthorne, NY, 20 miles from New York City. Gene Link, Inc., is a leading supplier of custom oligonucleotides for use in PCR, sequencing, cloning, ligation, and sequence mutagenesis. We use Perseptives Expedite technology to supply quality product. Gene Link offers all modifications, including Molecular Beacons. All oligonucleotides are desalted and lyophilized and are shipped with a custom report including all physical data such as MW, Tm, EC, nm, and ug as well as a gel picture for quality monitoring. Gene Link offers direct electronic ordering over the web, providing real time physical data as you enter the sequence.

In addition, Gene Link has recently introduced DNA sequencing services. Gene Link uses ABI capillary technology for its sequencing. Services include CloneID for a one run clone identification, DSSeq for publication quality double stranded confirmatory sequencing of plasmid DNA or PCR products, and Bac/Pac/P1Seq for terminal end sequencing of Bac, Pac, or P1 clones. Al sequencing results are sent in electronic format.

Gene Link only just began to offer custom gene construction. Gene Link can take the sequence needed for cloning, synthesize all oligos needed, ligate and transform the requested plasmid to contain the clone. The clone is then sequenced for quality control, and the customer receives both the clean plasmid and a plate of the bacterial culture containing the plasmid with the clone.

Gene Link offers a wide variety of catalog items as well. These items consist of standard sequencing primers, linkers, adaptors, plasmid extraction kits, and other molecular biology items that can be shipped immediately for next day delivery.

Gene Link also has a research and development department dedicated to discovering new techniques and methods leading to better quality products. Gene Link recently developed a non radioactive detection kit for Fragile X mental retardation and is in the process of developing other research products to aid scientists with genetic disorders, specifically triple repeat disorders. Also available from Gene Link are kits for research purposes designed for testing for SRY/XY, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis.

Gene Link fosters customer satisfaction and loyalty by maintaining a close personal relationship with our customers and by offering technical support for the applications of our products. Our dedicated and highly trained staff of customer service and technical support employees is strongly motivated to serve our customers. We routinely assist our customers regarding the design of their experiments and the solving of their application problems.
