EX-CELL® CD Insect Cell Medium

<p>EX-CELL&reg; CD Insect Cell Medium is a chemically defined cell culture medium specifically designed for optimal performance with insect cell lines. It is animal-component-free and formulated with L-Glutamine. This medium can be used for the amplification and production of various insect cell lines, including Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf) cells such as Sf21 and Sf9, as well as Tni, C636, and S2 cells. It has been optimized for the rhabdovirus-free Sf-RVN&reg; Insect Cell Line (Sf9), forming the Sf-RVN&reg; Platform.</p> <p>The insect cell culture media should be prepared by adding specific supplements according to the type (liquid or dry) and stored at 2-8 &deg;C, protected from light. It has a shelf life of 12 months. The reconstitution method for 1 L of EX-CELL&reg; CD Insect Cell Medium involves adding water, NaOH, EX-CELL&reg; CD Insect Cell Medium powder, sodium bicarbonate, adjusting pH, measuring osmolality, and sterilizing through filtration.</p> <p>For initiating cultures, the medium is added to a shake flask along with the thawed frozen cells. The cells are incubated at the recommended temperature and agitation. Culturing involves monitoring cell health and passage when reaching the desired cell density. Cryopreservation of cells can be done using an insect cell freezing medium containing EX-CELL&reg; CD Insect Cell Medium and DMSO.</p>
