Drug-Excipient Interaction

The choice of excipients for a particular formulation can have many wide ranging effects on an API. Some of the affected properties are solubility, bioavailability, physical and chemical stability.

The choice of excipients for a particular formulation can have many wide ranging effects on an API. Some of the affected properties are solubility, bioavailability, physical and chemical stability. The purpose of studying these interactions is to control the properties of the intended formulation such that the desired purity, activity and stability are maintained.

AMRI makes use of both thermal and chromatographic methodologies to evaluate this. Additional complementary techniques are also used including XRPD and Raman for polymorph stability.
