DoubleTwist human genome database to mix it up with with Genomatix promoter resource database
The DoubleTwist Annotated Human Genome Database is available online through DoubleTwist.com and is also licensed with data mining and visualization software for use on a customer's internal computer network through DoubleTwist's Prophecy product.
"Genomatix is an acknowledged leader in the analysis of promoters and is the only commercial organization that has been able to detect human promoter sequences with high specificity," said John Couch, chairman and CEO of DoubleTwist Inc. "By combining their promoter database with our Annotated Human Genome Database, we expect to further enhance scientists' ability to better understand the genome."
"DoubleTwist has been at the forefront in developing and marketing products that facilitate genomic research by empowering scientists at every level of expertise," said Thomas Werner, CEO of Genomatix. "More than simply combining data, this collaboration between GPR and DoubleTwist is highly synergistic. We are delighted to work with DoubleTwist to integrate our offerings and further increase their value to the scientific community."
Genomatix Software is a spin-off company of the GSF-National Research Center for Environment and Health in Neuherberg/Munich, Germany.
