Single-use technology is utilized throughout various biomanufacturing operations, including mixing, storage, and transportation. Maintaining product quality and sterility is dependent on the integrity of the film employed in single-use systems. Film integrity is equally as crucial to ensure reliable manufacturing operations, especially in the case of large volume processing (>200 L). Ultimus^® film, an innovative technology with a layered polymer structure, is highly resistant to damage and effectively addresses the integrity issues commonly encountered with conventional films.

Here, we outline the development of Ultimus^® film and summarize the strength and robustness tests conducted in accordance with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
