DCAT Announces Sharp Sourcing 2015

Leading industry event for pharma sourcing, procurement and supply professionals

The Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT) announces DCAT Sharp Sourcing 2015, a conference and networking event for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical companies and suppliers in the pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain. This annual event, which will be held Thursday, July 16 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Brunswick, New Jersey, brings together sourcing, purchasing, procurement, and supply professionals involved in chemical, biologic, pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, packaging, and the related supply chain.

Developed by DCAT’s Supply Management Committee and Education Committee, this year’s event will feature specialized education forums for buyers and suppliers and joint sessions on supplier innovation, crowdsourcing, and risk management. DCAT Sharp Sourcing will also feature a special keynote speaker, former Navy SEAL and Special Operator, Robert O’Neill, who led the successful mission for Osama bin Laden, who will discuss the ingredients for a success mission: the right people, preparedness, decision-making under pressure and above all, commitment. 

At DCAT Sharp Sourcing 2015’s Buyers’ Forum, pharmaceutical sourcing, procurement, purchasing, and supply management professionals will be able to meet with their peers for an interactive session that will provide practical insights and discussions on the challenges and best practices in category management, sourcing strategies (single versus dual sourcing), and supplier relationship management. Gary Pisano, Harry E. Figgie Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business School, will provide best practices and examples in supplier innovation.

His research, teaching, and consulting have focused on technology strategy, the management of innovation and intellectual property, competitive strategy, and manufacturing and outsourcing strategy.
