Presentation: Continuous Processing

Features:

  • Corrosion-resistant materials (PVDF, PTFE, glass, Viton, ceramics)
  • Flexible tubing (UNF ¼” 28 G fittings + PTFE tubes)
  • 18 reactor glass pipes connected in series for a total length of 16 m
  • Maximum residence time: 2.7 min @ 0.1 m/s flow
  • Temperature control: ± 2 °C
  • Up to 4 pumps with 1 % accuracy @ 10-150 ml/min flow
  • 1 p/T probe for main-flow control, 1 pH/T probe, 2 additional T probes
  • Magnet valve for precision sampling at the outlet

Application example (3-step continuous acetylation):

  • Total flow rate (substrate + 50 % NaOH + acetic anhydride): 124 ml/min
  • Residence time for 100 % turnover: 24 s
  • Continuous work-up by parallel addition of acid (ex reactor)
  • Capacity: 39.3 g/min of crude product (2.36 kg/h)
  • Highest ?Tad : 73 °C @ 33 °C bath temperature, solvent: water
  • Total heat generation: 1.1 kW
