Carl Zeiss MicroImaging, Inc. Makes Specimen Cutting Easy

Carl Zeiss now offers a product family of cryostats and microtomes to the research community in the United States With their smooth motion and precise operation, the microtomes and cryostats of the Microm line facilitate microscopic examinations like never before. They can be individually adapted to the user's work routines, making it very simple to cut perfect microscopic specimens.

Microm instruments are known for their excellent ergonomic design, operating comfort and safe application, minimizing the operators' strain on their wrist, shoulder and neck. Microm instruments are carefully designed to simplify the production of histological specimens.

The Microm products include many important innovations such as step motor technology for maximum precision, a memory function for the fast retrieval of the sectioning position, a motorized cutting drive, object fine orientation and a large-volume waste tray with integrated arm support.

The microtomes and cryostats of the Microm line supplement the MIRAX virtual slide solutions and the microscopy solutions from Carl Zeiss. The company now covers the entire workflow from the production of a histological section to microscopic analysis and digitization of the results.

With the Microm product family, Carl Zeiss offers an excellent solution for each research application. The product family includes the following instruments:

HM 325 - multipurpose rotary microtome with specimen retraction during return travel and section counter

HM 355 S - motorized rotary microtome for all applications in paraffin technology and for hard specimens

HM 360 - motorized rotary microtome for all applications in paraffin and semi-thin technology and for hard specimens

HM 430 - smooth-running sliding microtome for fast, convenient and fatigue-free work

HM 450 - electronic sliding microtome with automatic fine/trim feed and specimen retraction during return travel

HM 550 - modular cryostat for optimum cutting results of frozen tissues, the ideal solution for each application

HM 560 - cryostat with a unique cooling system for independent specimen and knife cooling

HM 650V automatic microtome with vibrating blade for fixed and unfixed tissues in histology and neurology as well as for non-biological specimens in material research
