The senior management of Brinkmann Instruments, Inc. announced that its company affiliate, Eppendorf Scientific, Inc., has merged with Brinkmann Instruments, Inc., effective January 1, 2001.

The merger creates the new BioSystems Division supporting both Eppendorf Scientific's full line of cell and molecular biology products and Brinkmann's broad range of liquid handling, centrifugation, temperature control, evaporation and synthesis products.

As for the Brinkmann Analytical Systems Division, which serves the pharmaceutical, petrochemical and other industrial markets, no operational or structural changes have been made. The Analytical Systems Division continues to supply and support Metrohm Titration Systems and Eco Chemie electrochemical instruments throughout North America.

Brinkmann also continues to represent its other valued manufacturer partners in the North American market: Binder®, Büchi®, Eco Chemie, KINEMATICA, Lauda®, Metrohm®, Riedel-de Haën, Seward, and Tuttnauer.

The combined resources of the Brinkmann BioSystems sales and support groups, along with the strength of the Analytical Systems Division, builds on Brinkmann's 59-year heritage of supplying its customers with high quality systems, service and support.

As a result of the merger, Brinkmann customers will now enjoy additional benefits:

  • All Eppendorf products are now supported by one organization throughout North America, making it easier for customers to get product information and answers to questions.
  • Local sales/product support capabilities, as well as customer applications support have been expanded.
