BioSource Acquires Serum, Media And Buffer Supplier In Washington DC Area

BioSource International, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of immunological reagents, test kits and oligonucleotides, has completed its acquisition of Biofluids, Inc. (Rockville, MD), announced on Oct. 28, 1998. Biofluids, Inc. manufactures and supplies high quality serum, media and buffers to academic, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical researchers in the Washington, DC area.

BioSource paid approximately $2.7 million in cash for substantially all the assets of Biofluids. For the year ended Dec. 31, 1997, Biofluids had net revenues of $2.3 million (unaudited) and for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 1998, Biofluids had net revenues of $1.7 million (unaudited).
