Bellco Glass, Inc. is proud of its role as a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of biological glassware and equipment. Located in Vineland, NJ, long known as the home of standard laboratory glassware production, Bellco today specializes in serving the life science market including the fields of microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology.

Bellco Glass, founded in 1936, was originally called Bell Co. because it made lamp founts in the shape of bells. The name was changed to Bellco in 1940 when the organization was incorporated. Edward S. Harker purchased the company in 1951, as Bellco was a leading producer of standard laboratory glassware.

The plant was completely destroyed by fire in 1958. Mrs. Ruth Kimble Harker, the owner's wife was quick to point out "We'll be back in business." Bellco was back in business with a new plant in its current location. Fifty people were employed in the new 20,000 sq. foot facility.

The company added laboratory equipment to its glassware line in 1962. Donald K. Harker became president in 1967 and under his leadership Bellco added to the manufacturing facility with metal fabrication and assembly areas expanding the operation to 55,000 sq. feet by 1969.

When Donald K. Harker died in 1982 his son Steven J. Harker became President and Chief Executive Officer. With three generations of family leadership Bellco has continued to grow and expand with a new warehouse, metalworking production facility and a continuous improvement program in all production areas of 100,000 sq. ft. Bellco currently employs over 100 people, has a direct domestic sales force and over 30 distributors worldwide.

In the future, Bellco under the leadership and direction of the Harker family, with the energy of the Bellco Management Team and its traditions, Bellco will continue to serve the needs of the Biotech Markets throughout the world.
