Solvents for Biotechnology Applications

BAKER BIO-ANALYZED™ Solvents are specially purified and carefully tested to ensure suitability and reliability in nucleic acid or peptide synthesis. Carefully controlled low water levels, amines, and other contaminants plus unsurpassed lot-to-lot consistency deliver better synthesis yields and coupling efficiencies. These solvents are packaged in 4 liter bottles with a single-turn neck finish to facilitate use with synthesizers. Selected solvents are also available in the J.T.Baker CYCLE-TAINER® Solvent Delivery System.

BAKER BIO-ANALYZED™ solvents are optimized for use in nucleic acid and peptide synthesis and are purified and controlled to maximize the highest coupling efficiencies and synthesis yields.

Enhanced Productivity

Production yields of synthetic oligonucleotides and peptides are heavily dependent on the quality and consistency of the solvents used in the manufacturing process. BAKER BIO-ANALYZED™ solvents are carefully controlled for impurities by extensive UV, acid, base, water and residue after evaporation characterization. Additional testing for impurities such as amines or peroxide levels are performed on specific solvents when their presence in elevated levels would impact synthesis yields.

Ultra-Low Water Acetonitrile

The CYCLE-TAINER® Solvent Delivery System delivers BAKER BIO-ANALYZED™ Ultra-Low Water Acetonitrile directly to your nucleic acid synthesizer, eliminating exposure to the atmosphere. Manufactured using our Permeation Purification Technology (PPT), BAKER BIO-ANALYZED™ Ultra-Low Water Acetonitrile provides exceptionally low water content (maximum 5 ppm by KF coulometry) preventing undesirable hydrolysis side reactions and maximizing synthesis yields.
