Application Guide: GFC-Transfection ArraysTM
To rapidly identify genes that can elevate protein expression, Ori-Gene's novel high-throughput functional screening platform, the GFC-Transfection Arrays (Genome Wide Full-Length cDNA arrays) can be employed. This platform enables clones in a mammalian expression vector to be individually arrayed in multiwell plates and be simultaneously overexpressed in mammalian cells by reverse transfection.
The array is then evaluated for the effect of each clone on a given biological process, leading to rapid identification of numerous effective clones. GFC-Transfection Arrays can be used to identify clones that affect most biological processes including cell growth, survival, protein expression and more.
These arrays are ready for use, making simultaneous screening of hundreds to thousands of genes an easy task. We have screened 1400 genes for their ability to increase expression of luciferase and GFP. Altogether, 253 genes were shown to elevate expression by 1.5 - 10 fold.
