In 1922, Mr. Anton Paar, a machine fitter, established the company - at that time a one-man workshop. Managing Director Ulrich Santner has been the energetic driving force behind the company since 1963, building the company up into a highly innovative firm with 400 employees worldwide. Using the latest CAD, CAM, CNC and laser technologies, Anton Paar GmbH is today a renowned producer of a variety of high quality, high performance instruments and a contract manufacturer of high-precision mechanical parts.

A milestone for the company and for density measurement in general was the production of the first electronic density meters using the vibrating U-tube method in the late sixties. Today the 6th generation of density meters is being manufactured, while instruments of the first generation are still operating in many labs.

Co-operations with leading universities and research institutions in Austria and abroad guarantee the latest technology and production according to ISO 9001 guidelines ensures maximum quality and reliability of all products.

SAP has been used as our ERP software since January 1999. This SAP system is an integrated solution for handling production, logistics and business processes. Lotus Notes is used for internal and external communication.
