The development of stable cell lines to produce protein biologics and gene therapies has historically been a significant task due to numerous cell culture challenges that exist. Whilst Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) was traditionally used as a serum supplement to support the growth of cells in vitro, its application has raised regulatory concerns due to the increased risk of contamination of health products. Here, we consider Advanced Instrument’s animal component-free (ACF) Insti CHO and HEK cell culture supplements as a solution for the pharmaceutical industry, enabling them to overcome cell culture limitations whilst maintaining regulatory requirements.
