Adeno-associated virus (AAV) is a widely used viral vector in gene therapy due to its favorable safety profile and efficient gene delivery. Accurate quantification and qualification of AAV are essential for consistent dosing in clinical and therapeutic applications. While qPCR is commonly used, it has limitations such as reliance on standard curves and reduced tolerance to inhibitors.

To address these challenges, the QIAcuity® Digital PCR System offers a duplex assay that enables absolute quantification of both the AAV genome (ITR) and the gene of interest (GFP) in a single run. This approach enhances reproducibility, simplifies workflows, and allows additional quality insights through ITR-to-insert ratio analysis.

Learn how this streamlined workflow improves assay consistency and robustness, even in the presence of inhibitors, compared to traditional qPCR methods.
